Today after a Dr's appt. I told Elise (my newly 4 yr old) that we had to run some errands. I tried really hard to pronounce all of the sounds because I know from experience that this word can be confusing.
Soon she asked, "when are we going to Erin's?". I explained again that we weren't going to "Erin's" but had to run some "errands" which meant that we had a few places to go to for some quick things. She still kept saying "Erin's" so I tried harder and said we had to run "erran-Duhs" "Duh, Duh, Duh" with a D at the end I said. She seemed to get it...
Until after our first stop, when she says, "Where are we going now? To Darren's?" All I could do was laugh at that point. I may have to put away the word "errands" for a long while.

Cute! I am not sure I have ever used that word with the kids. I just usually list the places we have to go. The store, the bank, the post office, etc. But, we don't know any Erins so maybe I have used it and it wasn't an issue?
Oh that is just too funny! That is one to repeat to your kids for years to come.
Why didn't you come to "Erin's"...we would have loved it!
That is so funny! Don't you love how little kids' ears work? It cracks me up!
