More than once over the last few weeks, we've found our little Ava passed out in various soft places: her Dora couch, the leather recliner, her carseat, the couch... Mind you this is late afternoon or around dinner time. Our dirty secret: my 2 1/2 year old (3 in June) still L-O-V-E-S her binky.

That is so funny! I love it. No worries on the bink...we weaned #1&2at the same time from theirs. Good luck!
hi lori - that picture is precious. don't worry, parker took a binkie to go to sleep until he was almost three, too. i think it works better to wait, because then they are old enough for you to bribe them with something to give it up, as opposed to making them cry it out when they are babies!
Our Christopher just barely gave up his binky. It will happen soon enough. And I'm telling you that it is such a tricky transition from needing a nap to not needing one. When my older boys hit about 3 or 3 1/2, they started not needing one and would fight it, but then around 4 or 5 would fall asleep in front of the TV or in the car, and then would end up staying up too late. After about 6 months of either a really late nap or no nap, but super grumpy at dinnertime, they finally reached the point where they could be totally happy/fine without a nap.
What a cute picture! Nothing wrong with extended binky use, in my opinion.
